Why is there a minimum requirement?
As a mobile service provider based in Coldstream, BC on Watson Drive, my minimum service fee varies depending on the travel distance required. The further the location, the higher the minimum charge will be.
Do you rent canoes?
We do not rent canoes. Only kayaks and paddle boards.
What kind of paddle boards do you rent?
We rent out inflatable paddle boards.
What type of payments do you accept?
Payment Options: Cash, e-transfer, debit, and credit cards.
Card Fees:
- 1% fee for Canadian debit cards - 3% fee for Canadian credit cards - 4% fee for out-of-country credit cards
Where are you located?
We do not have a physical location. Ed's Kayak Rental is unique because we are a mobile kayak provider. Please let us know where you would like to launch from and we will come to you if we support the location!
Are life vests or PFD's included with the rental fees?
Yes, life vests are included in all rentals.
Do we have to pay any delivery fees?
No, except there are some locations that have minimum requirements.
What lake would you recommend to go kayaking?
Kalamalka Lake is a popular launch for our customers.
What kind of kayaks do you rent?
We rent out recreational kayaks which are very comfortable and stable on the water.
What age are the kids kayaks for?
The recommended age group is 4 to 10 years. Kids kayak max. capacity is 45kg / 100 lb.
Do you deliver to Kelowna?
We usually do not go to Kelowna because it is outside of our current coverage area due to the distance involved. If you do need kayaks delivered to Kelowna, additional delivery fees will apply.
Are paddles and life jackets included?
Yes, all our kayaks and paddleboards come with a paddle, a life jacket, and a safety kit included in the rental price.
Do you rent canoes?
No, we do not rent canoes. We only rent Single Kayaks and Tandem (2-person) Kayaks, which are a great alternative!
Are paddles and life jackets included with a boat rental?
Yes. All boat rentals include the standard paddles and life jackets needed for your rental at no extra charge.
The $10 paddle and life jacket fee listed under Additional Services only applies to customers who are renting gear separately and are not renting a boat.
